I cannot recommend this company under any circumstances. This was, without question, one of the worst contractor experiences I've ever had.

Before the project even began, I met with Tony, the owner, for the initial estimate. I also had him come back a second time to make sure he fully understood what we needed done. I specifically requested a patio with retaining walls around the perimeter and sloping away from the house. I live in an area that is prone to flooding and had already invested thousands of dollars in preventative measures, including a newly installed French drain and a drain/grate near the back of my home and new gutters. I made it very clear that proper drainage was critical.

When the crew arrived, it was obvious that none of that mattered.

They completely destroyed my backyard, leaving rocks, broken concrete, food wrappers, water bottles, and construction debris scattered everywhere. They ripped through my French drain and annihilated the sprinklers, leaving pieces sticking out of the ground and tossing the materials aside. Existing landscaping and decorative rock were simply torn up and thrown all over the yard with no effort to protect or restore anything.

Even worse, they clogged the drain near the back of my house with concrete debris. The next heavy rain caused my lower level to flood. I texted Tony at the time and let him know the issues they caused and he didn't respond. I had to pay for that clean up and our new carpeting was ruined. I had to pay to have the drain professionally snaked, and concrete debris was found throughout the drain line.

Tony was absent for most of the project but had no problem showing up to collect payment. He saw firsthand that my yard was in complete disarray and did absolutely nothing to address it.

The biggest issue, however, was that they never installed the retaining walls I specifically requested and expected as part of the project. When I asked Tony why they weren't built, his response was simply that he "didn't think I needed them." That was never his decision to make. I requested retaining walls because of my property's drainage issues, discussed them during multiple meetings, and paid for them as part of the project. His solution was to offer only a $200 reduction because the walls weren't installed.

The worst thing was, I specifically requested that the patio be graded to slope away from my house to help direct water away from the foundation. Instead, the patio was installed sloping toward my house, exacerbating the very drainage problem I hired them to help address. Given that flooding was the primary reason I wanted the retaining walls and proper grading in the first place, this was incredibly frustrating and completely contrary to what we had discussed before the project began.

The problems didn't end there. Because the company left rocks and debris scattered throughout my yard, my lawn service later hit those rocks with their equipment, and one was launched through our doorwall, causing even more damage.

This project created thousands of dollars in additional problems, damaged my property, ignored my clearly stated requirements, and left me to deal with the consequences. It took my a while to get to writing this review. I initally wasn't going to, but the issues kept piling up and I wish someone had warned me.

If you value professionalism, communication, respect for your property, or quality workmanship, I strongly recommend hiring someone else. My experience with this company was an absolute nightmare.

The driveway they poured is thicker than the standard spec we'd seen from other contractors. The extra depth was reflected in the price but the finished product feels more substantial and we expect it to hold up better.

I worked with Tony from 5K Concrete and had a great experience. He took care of the permits and even pushed the city to move things along faster when they were delayed. I made a few changes during the job, like adjusting my porch and adding a stamped concrete area, and Tony was very fair and easy to work with. The driveway and walkway look great. I highly recommend 5k Concrete. Tony was quick to give me a quote, offered a competitive price, and provided a clear timetable for when it would be scheduled as well as how long it would take. Anthony and his crew were awesome. On July 10th they started at 7 am and by 5 pm the driveway was laid. They cam back the next day at 7am did all of t h e final cuts and by 12 noon everything was cleaned up and complete.
It was amazing watching them work together as a time. Their skill set was something to see. You will not regret having them for the job.

This is an extremely unreliable company to work with. Tony came out to our house and gave a quote for driveway and garage floor replacement. Then never honored his appointment for actually doing the job. I called him a couple of times to check if he is still interested in doing my house and everytime he said yes he has me on the schedule but never showed up. Not professional at all.

7/30/25 update: we finally settled on the price which was slightly higher than the initial quote given the time of the year. His crew did a good job with both the driveway and garage. I would recommend him to my friends.

I was looking for a company to do my patio called around and got 3 quotes. 5K was the only company that honored their quote, the other two companies i called said there may be unforeseen circumstances when they start excavating, and the price will go up. Tony and his crew did a great job at the price they quoted me I couldn’t be happier.

I have nothing bad to say about this company and the employed laborers! Very professional, quick in getting the job done, and getting the job done right. Not only that but HONESTY.. We almost got ripped off and for a large amount of $$ had we not found Tony and his crew. I truly wish there were a sign I could place in my yard to help promote 5k Concrete. I will definitely be giving this name out to anyone who asks or mentions needing concrete work. Of course if we need it again, we know who we'll be calling!!

5k concrete excavated my backyard, filled in a pool, poured a foundation for a garage, poured a stamped patio, and put in a new driveway.

Through all of it, Tony was very responsive, professional, and performed high quality work at a great price. Couldn't recommend him more for anything concrete.

Tony and his team were absolutely amazing, professional, and the work they did was top tier. Given that, the work they did was 40-50% less than what I had been given in quotes by other other contractors, who seemed to yank up their price because we lived in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the City. Tony didn’t do that.

The neighbors love the work they did, and the driveway they dug up had been here since Reagan administration. Couldn’t be happier with the work! Even sent a guy out to fill edges along driveway with top soil. Happy to say that his crew all got some of my beers - and not the cheap stuff either. The quality IPA.

Tony is one of those guys and contractors that you kinda wish you had more work for, but you only do one driveway replacement in the life of your house. Highest possible recommendation I can possibly give them. Oh, and I’d be happy to post photos, but partner is out of town and hasn’t seen the work yet. It’s a surprise for her.
